Tunable Resonant‐Photopyroelectric Detector Using Chalcogenide−Metal−Fluoropolymer Nanograting

Pyroelectric detectors are often broadband and require external filters for wavelength-specific applications. This paper reports a tunable, narrowband, lightweight pyroelectric infrared detector built upon flexible membrane of As2S3−Ag−P(VDF-TrFE) with subwavelength grating, which is capable both on-chip filtering photopyroelectric energy conversion. The top surface this hybrid corrugated As2S3−Ag film contributing to narrowband light absorption in the near-infrared (NIR) regime, bottom part polyvinylidene fluoride-trifluoroethylene (PVDF-TrFE) conversion absorbed an electrical signal. Uniquely, applying bias voltage PVDF-TrFE enables tuning device's characteristics owing piezoelectrically induced mechanical bending. resonator exhibited resonant coefficient 80% full-width-half-maximum 15 nm within NIR, responsivity 1.4 mV mW−1, equivalent noise power 13 µW Hz−1/2 at 1560 nm. By 15-V membrane, decreased 18% due change grating period incident angle. tunable features will benefit variety potential applications sensors, optical spectroscopy, imaging.
